Although Jack Nicholson owns properties all over the world, his most notorious residence is his long-term home located on Mulholland Drive in Beverly Hills. Purchased in 1969, the Academy Award winner’s home had served as the go-to spot for wild Hollywood parties throughout the 70s and 80s. Over the years, Nicholson has purchased additional parcels of land, expanding the property’s footprint. In fact, in 2005, the actor purchased Marlon Brando’s former home next door and had it rebuilt. Rumor has it Nicholson’s home also has darker ties to it, such as multiple criminal investigations and a fire that burned down the previous house on the land. Whether cursed or not, it remains the long-term home of one of Hollywood’s most celebrated actors.

Nicolas Cage

Address: 363 Copa De Oro Road

Nicolas Cage has a history of lavish spending, whether it be on yachts, rare animal collections, or real estate properties. Cage bought his Bel Air home known as The Pink Palace at 363 Copa De Oro Road in 1998 from Sir Tom Jones for a reported $6.5 million. Before both Cage and Jones owned the mansion, it was the home of Dean Martin in the 60s and early 70s. Today, The Pink Palace is valued at around $35 million, although that value dipped down to $10.4 million in 2015. 

Adele

Address: 9575 Hidden Valley Rd

Grammy-winner Adele has owned a number of properties in Beverly Hills. The singer bought her first home in the area in 2016 for $9.5 million. Adele would go on to purchase her second home in 2018 after splitting with her husband Simon Konecki. This second home, which was built in 1961, cost the singer around $10.6 million and was previously owned by movie producer Michael Hertzberg. Adele recently added a third Beverly Hills home to her portfolio after buying Sylvester Stallone’s former property for $58 million in 2022. The singer’s new sprawling mansion is located in beautiful Beverly Park and serves as her home base.

Taylor Swift

Address: 1200 Laurel Lane

Taylor Swift’s home in Beverly Hills is truly a sight to behold. Formerly owned by movie mogul Samuel Goldwyn who helped found Metro Goldwyn Mayer, Swift’s property was granted landmark status in 2017, meaning that the “Shake It Off” singer literally owns a piece of history. Swift purchased the property in 2015 for a whopping $25 million and is the first person outside of the Goldwyn family to own the home. The singer plans to restore the 10,982-square-foot estate to its original glory after she gets approval from the Beverly Hills City Council.

Jay Leno

Address: 1151 Tower Road

America’s beloved talk show host purchased his house in Beverly Hills in 1987 for $2.5 million. Leno and his wife, Mavis Leno, have lived in the home ever since, using it as their main place of residence. The 6,400-square-foot property was built in 1978 and has undergone extensive renovations over the years. The house features 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, and a large living room, as well as a dedicated pool and spa area and a guest house. The former talk show host can also enjoy the incredible views of downtown Los Angeles from his home.

Ellen DeGeneres

An avid “house flipper,” the loveable talk show host Ellen DeGeneres has bought and sold at least seven properties in the city of Beverly Hills. For instance, in 2003, DeGeneres purchased a home for $6 million in the city and sold it three years later to actor Will Ferrell for $9 million. Then, in 2019, Ellen, along with her wife Portia de Rossi, bought rockstar Adam Levine’s Beverly Hills mansion for a whopping $45 million. The sprawling 10,376-square-foot property boasts 5 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. Ellen and her wife’s most recent home purchase serves as their main base of operations for the time being.

Jeff Bezos

Address: 1801 Angelo Dr.

While not a Hollywood star or mogul, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has more than achieved celebrity status. The Amazon founder can also add Beverly Hills homeowner to his resume. Given Bezos’ incredible net worth, it’s no shocker the CEO would buy the most expensive property in all of Beverly Hills. Paying a staggering $165 million for his Jack Warner Estate, which was previously owned by business magnate David Geffen, in early 2020, Bezos broke the record for the priciest sale of a private residence in Los Angeles County. The Warner Estate is a one-of-a-kind gem built in the 1930s. Since buying the property, Bezos has made a number of upgrades, including a pool house and powder room.
